THE WATER TEST

The water test was conducted on the 3rd of May, 9 days after it was built, and water was sprayed on the wall for approximately 2 minutes.

Only a minimal amount of water reached the inside of the wall as shown on the video. The outcome is more due to the angle of water and position of the louvres in the window than the construction of the wall.

Small amounts of the outside finish broke way initially from the impact of the water. This could be a result of not using any artificial materials in the finish to make it more durable to the elements. The weather of the previous night included heavy rain which could have also resulted in a more unstable render and mortar. In addition, the mortar had had only 9 days to cure, and these 9 days included some pretty heavy rain fall, meaning the mortar, also use as a light render, had not sufficiently cured.
