LA MESA RESIDENCE

La Mesa is an example of how one of the oldest building materials in the world can be used and implemented in a way that incorporates modern designs and practices. Inspired by his love for Hispanic architecture, John Byers designed the house and dedicated his career to evoking the building traditions of this architectural style.

Dutton Architects were later contracted by the owner of the home, to bring the building into the twenty-first century. The rhetoric of their design choices can be seen rippling throughout the house with their use of natural elements and their keeping with the traditions of Spanish architecture.
